Our Story
Throughout history, some of fashion’s most game-changing moments happened because of a gap in the market; a longing for something new. So, our story, Seven jeans, begins.
How It Started
Michael Glasse, Peter Koral and Jerome Dahan founded 7 For All Mankind in Fall 2000. In search of jeans that married luxury with casual, they were faced with a barren landscape. By uniting a love of premium goods with that affable, laidback charm denim does so well, they set out to change the landscape of denim forever. Born in Los Angeles, (something that remains intrinsic to our brand to this day), 7 For All Mankind redefined the denim industry. The founders established that fabric innovation, unparalleled fit and attention to detail were key to a luxury garment. Apply these to denim, and it’s no longer a workwear garment or off-duty basic, but something to be coveted. 7 For All Mankind jeans started a new era.
Making A Mark
Glasse, Koral and Dahan created a new way of wearing denim, reimagining jeans as a sophisticated choice appropriate for virtually any time or place. By working with luxe fabrics, creating polished silhouettes and focusing on the small details, such as intricate stitchwork, the premium denim sector had been created, with 7 For All Mankind jeans leading the way. In 2002, 7 For All Mankind introduced men’s denim, followed by a kids range in 2005. The denim brand quickly earned an immediate following and its nickname became ‘Sevens’. The iconic back-pocket ‘squiggle’ became a signifier of style-savvy insider knowledge. Fashion editors, stylists and the Hollywood elite started to love 7 For All Mankind jeans and they soon appeared on everyone from Kim Kardashian to Prince Harry.
