7 FOR ALL MANKIND X ENRICA BORGHI

Love denim, save water. Celebrating the wonder of the ocean and beauty of transformation: 7 For All Mankind FW21 store windows have been designed to be eco-friendly. The blue sculptures are made from recycled plastic bottles, shaped and crafted by the Italian artist Enrica Borghi. This environmental theme represents 7 For All Mankind's commitment to sustainability. The works of art will be displayed in 7 For All Mankind stores around Europe and in USA, in New York and Los Angeles.

The concept

Over 8,000 recycled plastic bottles cut into the shapes of waves have been used in the store as visual merchandising. Nothing was wasted, as even the bases of the bottles were used to create the artwork. The windows are eye-catching and impactful, and perfectly match the new eco denim launched by 7 For All Mankind. The artist Enrica Borghi, focused on recycling and the environment, reused blue plastic bottles to reference the classic indigo colour of 7 For All Mankind jeans. In FW21, 7 For All Mankind turns its most popular fabrics into green fabrics: Luxe Performance and Slim Illusion. The best seller flexible fit jeans for him, Luxe Performance, are now sustainable. Made from organic cotton and dyed using our low-impact process, which reduces water waste by 70%, these eco-friendly jeans feel good, look good and do good. The much-loved women’s sculpting jeans 'Slim Illusion' also just got even better this season. Made using 100% recycled fabrics and earth-friendly manufacturing methods, these cult classics are now part of our sustainable future. 'The bottle is cut into a spiral, creating these long ribbons which are then joined together into a collection of waves that brings to mind the sea and that also hangs and flutters in the air, underlining the lightness of this material, which is in reality taken from the rubbish bin', says the artist, Enrica Borghi.

Sustainable For All Mankind Project

Since 2019, 7 For All Mankind has been on a journey to design and produce beautiful products with a focus on sustainable materials and on practices that will reduce our impact on the planet. The goal is to ensure that over 80% of our products have sustainable properties by 2023. 7 For All Mankind will achieve its goals by prioritising organic and recycled materials, adopting innovative manufacturing methods, ensuring ethical treatment of workers and reducing its in-house footprint. 7 For All Mankind is also a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) and requires strategic suppliers to submit their materials to the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) and go through third-party verification to ensure their commitment to responsible practices. The first sustainable item was the 080 denim, designed for the 20th anniversary of the 7 For All Mankind collection, launched this spring, which includes reissued jean styles made using sustainable materials. The iconic low-rise bootcut jeans and trouser jeans are made of organic cotton denim and recycled elastane, washed using an eco-friendly process, and finished with recycled hardware. By Autumn/Winter 2022, 7 For All Mankind will turn its most popular fabrics into green fabrics. The best seller sculpting jeans 'Slim Illusion' are made using 100% recycled fabrics and earth-friendly manufacturing methods, meaning that these cult classics are now part of our sustainable future. The men’s favourite flexible fabric 'Luxe Performance' jeans are now also sustainable. Made of organic cotton and dyed using our low-impact process which reduces water waste by 70%, these eco-friendly jeans feel good, look good and do good.
